Hi there, first post and just getting used to the coding of this, although not the most informing manual, hence I am here to see if anyone can assist.
I have been reading and searching for answers in this forum, but to no avail, and no, I don't want to send my .cab in as it is a private project and confidential, also I want to know how it can be rectified.
Issue 1. Warning: Empty string passed to getElementById().
This is something that arrives even before I touch anything, it is inherent in the script, I am gathering somewhere in tb.js. I have seen someone else had this issue which i gather has been resolved as you asked them to send the .cab to you a while back.
Issue 2 does anything work with firefox ?, it is the newest version I am working on, so according to admin posts here it does support 3.0, however I even tested with 2.0 and still hardly anything works with it.
such as: DocumentComplete. this will only perform when you start the browser, which I know that is what it is supposed to do if you set expire to 0, but no matter what you set it to, it still only performs at startup.
Beforenavigate does not work at all no matter what I do to it.
In internet explorer, as far as I can tell (as I don't use it unless I really must to test usability with it) all works.
So, I even tried the tool for converting to Firefox, just in case, but that leaves same results.
maybe it is something I am not doing, but after hours of pulling my hair out at it, I am beeping here to see if anyone can give some advice on why this is happening and to tell em how to fix it myself.
cheers, |

1. Please, send us a sample .cab to reproduce the issue. Otherwise we cannot help.
2. Trial version may not work properly on Firefox 3.0+. With the license purchase you will get a custom converter to support DocumentCOmplete, ToolbarInit events, for example. |

it is not a trial version, it is a standard version bought by my employer. to reproduce the error you just have to make a basic toolbar with nothing added yourself and then add it to Firefox, then look at Firefox error console. rather simple to replicate and I see others had this issue too.
all issues stated are internal issues which have no concern over the edits that I have made. and as stated the .cab is private and confidential, if you want to read and sign a 20 page none disclosure agreement and copywrite protection, then I can send the cab. however sending the cab will be of no use to anyone as this is an issue that is inherent to the program.
once again, if anyone here has knowledge of the program and why this is happening, do please let me know ideas so tat I can manually repair it without sending off a confidential cab to god knows who. |

well I found the answer to the first part, why Firefox is bringing up "Warning: Empty string passed to getElementById()." I put it in debug mode and saw that it is trying to call affiliateID even when one id not set, so I have removed that rubbish from the main internal code.
you really should not false advertise, saying it works with Firefox when it clearly by the code I am looking at does not, a poor attempt at trying to make it work with FF. for a product that costs $1000 and has been around for a while now, is extremely badly made.
I will be contacting my employer to obtain his funds back and for him to commence action against false advertising. |

As I told you we provide a custom Firefox converter to our licensed customers.
Please, contact support@besttoolbars.net to get it, by mentioning the name of your emplyer and date of the order.
%AffiliateID is supported with the custom converter as well, by the way.
Firefox 3.0 has many changes, so features that worked in Firefox 2.0 fail to do the same under Firefox 3.0. That is why we have to re-write the code again. |
