Hi,

I wanted to know if it is possibe to change the icon of the toolbar.

The toolbar I am trying to create has 4 messages in the dropdown, so initially the main icon should be number 4 and every time a user clicks on one of the messages, the icon would be replaced by the number of messages that have not been clicked, for eg 3, 2 and 1. Wanted to know if that can be done.

Thanks,
Kiran

Yes, you can use different layouts to change them or use Javascript SetPropertyById to change the icon.

Hello - I have a similar questions and was wondering if you could expand on your answer a bit? I'm hoping to send something similar to a push notification to the toolbar - so that when something changes on our server (say a 'new article' is available) we want to update the icon in the toolbar to show something is unread.

You can use 'Dynamic XML' feature to change your toolbar's appearance from the server
