Hello,
1. Does auto update suppose to happen when browser starts regardless of the "update every X hours" field? because it doesn't seem to happen.
2. When I set silent update on and call tool.Update() it doesnt show the downloading phase of the update, but all of a sudden the "close all IE windows" dialog appears, and I would like to prevent it from showing on silent update. I want to toolbar to be updated totally silently and next time the user will open the browser the new version will be used. How can I do this??? |

1. Auto-Update suppose to happen on every X hours defined by you.
If you need another behaviour, this is possible to add/change.
2. To Update the toolbar, all opened IE windows should be closed. That is why we cannot delete these windows without users' permission. Also, with IE8 there will be problems if even you will want to get a custom solution of Silent Update mechanism without any dialog appeared.
Only Uninstall feature doesn't require to close all IE windows. |

| I don't mind if the user will see the updated version of the toolbar only the next time IE starts. Is this possible? Why is there a problem with IE8? Is it possible to solve them? |

I'm experiencing the same thing. It's not a good user experience to all of the sudden see 'Close All IE Browsers'. Can you post the solution for this in the forum?
Thanks |

You want all IE windows to be closed suddenly without asking a user ?
Toolbar cannot be updated without closing all windows. And we provide an option for userū to decide when they are willing to close the windows.
You can make a Dynamic toolbar and put XMLs, images on your server, and Update toolbar's appearance on the fly. |

Can I control the message so that it says something like, "There is a new version of the XXX toolbar, Would you like to update to the newer version?'
Then if they say, Yes, then it would ask the user to close their IE windows.
Is this possible? |
